To wrap up my experience here, I took the truck to the Ford dealer and they reprogrammed in about 5 minutes total. There was no adding to the computer- simply went into reset mode, then went around with a handheld tool that "beeped" each wheel. Ended up not charging me even though on the phone they said $39.99.
Dealer said he had never seen it go that easy, so I'm guessing the aftermarket sensors were more "sensitive" than stock or something? On a couple of the wheels he walked up to it without even putting the tool on it and it recognized it. I guess because it was so simple he felt bad charging $40.
Put my new FUEL Hostages on yesterday and had an interesting TPMS scenario unfold. After install the TPMS warning light was on, and LOW TIRE PRESSURE warning was on my display center. I manually put the truck into learn via the brake pedal stomp / key cycle on & off method and attempted to use my shops TPMS reset tool to no avail. I moved the truck forward a foot and tried again - several times. Finally I tried using a magnet from a transmission pan - once again, no dinkum. On the way home from work, the TPMS light goes out, message disappears and hasn't come back on. WTF?
