Here's my situation. My old man owns a 2014 scab roush raptor with 20k miles. Most of the miles are highway and the thing is truly babied. He has ordered a gen 2 so his current raptor will be on the market in the near future.
That being said, I work in the oil field and drive a base f150 with 85k that I beat the hell out of on the lease roads and also dd. I also own a oxford white 2003 SVT cobra with >8k miles, kenne bell with supporting mods. I currently have a for sale thread for that vehicle on svtperformance.com.
My questions for you guys are: What will my dad expect to get for his truck when/if he trades it in? What would you price it for if it was yours and posted it for sale here?
Initially I was going to sell my cobra and use that cash to buy my dad's to dd and keep my 150 solely as a work truck. I'm realizing that I won't get what I want for my cobra and don't really want to get rid of it so I'm thinking I could I sell my dad's truck for him, sell my work truck, then buy a raptor off this site and keep my cobra.
I'm just torn, give me some feedback please.

This is a no brainer!

Take your dad's truck off his hands. Sell your cobra and your truck privately.
Do not let your dad's truck slip out of your hands.
The Raptor won't get beat up like your f150. Post your cobra on eBay with the lowest reserve you're willing to let it go for.

Besides doing whatever you have to do to get ahold of your dad's Raptor.
Welcome to frf and good luck!

Sweet Jesus that is what I'm looking for.

Curious to see what he prices it at when he gets his Gen 2.
Can't help you on price, honestly, cause they are hard to find comps.

Your thinking of getting a 2010 Scab with 66k miles for 30k , instead of your dad's 14 ????
IMO do whatever you have to do to purchase your dad's Raptor.
Did he decide to keep it?

I have a unique job that requires me to put a ton of harsh miles down the toughest lease roads in the business. my current 150 goes in the shop every 10k miles for countless repairs. At first I was trying to find an old raptor so I wouldn't care as much if I tore it up but I've learned that these things hold their value so well that it doesn't really matter. I'll chalk it up as a good business decision to mask the fact that I'm going to ruin an awesome truck.
