If I want to dress as a Monster Truck but gas up as a Prius, I should be able to do that.

Why?I’m considering another truck same color and year except 122k miles for 8k more…
Not enough PPF?Ew a Gen2, pass.
:-/Is everyone basically saying skip and look for 2019 or newer? Ie not gen2
Im seeing 2017s with similar miles going for 40K around me from dealers.
Not to my taste, what’s the price you would buy the 802A I’m looking atFind a new one. They are everywhere...

2019 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew - EcoBoost V6, 4WD, Equipment Group 802A, Extensively Modified

Seems typical. G2 guys are still coming off the high of the "its worth more than I paid" from a year or so ago. You might find a better deal at a dealership than private party oddly enough. Im seeing plenty of 2018s with less miles for 45K around me without messing with private party. Not sure if Oregon has sales tax deductions for trade ins but that makes a dealership buy possibly a couple thousand cheaper depending on what you're trading if at all.Truck is a 802a, what would be a good price for the truck, they don’t seem to wanna go down on price, and won’t give me a warranty for free
This was great feedback, the tailgate seemed to be repaired via the carfax. Why?
Not enough PPF?
Did someone ask about tires?
:-/
No. It’s not a bad buy, it’s just not a spectacular deal.
Check for:
1) oil pan leaks. ’17’s and early ’18’s came with the plastic oil pan which had a relatively high failure rate ( it leaked ). This wasn’t so bad, the numbers of first time issues across the model weren’t horrible, however, many, many, many stealership service departments were either too lazy, or unskilled to successfully perform the repair. As I understand, letting the sealant cure for a set length of time before returning the unit to service helps ensure a lasting repair and that apparently ties up a bay for a while.
2) moonroof. I think 99% of Jen Too have the moonroof. Make sure it works. pop to vent first. All the time, every time. then close, then move to the rear.
If you hear a “pop” sound when opening to vent, that moon roof has sat for a long time.
3) there were multiple door lock recalls, and a seat belt recall. Make sure they’re taken care of. Also, the tailgate can come down. If the tailgate will open with the truck engine running, the TSB for the opening tailgate hasn’t been done. I went for years before finding my tailgate open on a ride home. A few users have posted pictures of the tailgate getting profoundly fúcked up from a garage door impact.
4) Even if cam phasers were repaired, get a cold soak start - at least 12 hours from the last start and preferably overnight or over a weekend. That’s one of the primary indicators, if it rattles like marbles in a can after a cold soak start.
5) at 88k, even if it’s a pavement princess, you’ll be needing shocks replaced. Fortunately, the OG Fox’s aren’t as hateful to your wallet.

Gotcha, yeah if the selection is sparse that does change things. Newly replaced shocks is pretty nice. Not trading in, everything else in my area is either more miles or newer but 57k plus
