Hello all,

I'm Tim and i live in the Netherlands so sorry if my grammar isnt correct sometimes ;)

I became a member of the forum because i am about to buy an supercrew raptor in blue flame. But here is the catch. I know you guys are ford guys but now days i drive a chevrolet avalanche. And i love the ride due to the back suspension.

I know that the Raptor and the avalanche are complety dfferant trucks. But has any one driven both before? The avalanche i now have is an 2009 LTZ with the 6.0L So i would get a bump in performance.

I love the looks of the Raptor! Also of the avalanche since its the first verhile i modded and made my own kind of truck.

Hope you guys can help me out since there arent much Raptors here in the Netherlands and i cant easely make a test drive.

My dealer is trying to get a customer who bought a supercab to let me drive one. But i havent heard anything from him yet.

And i hope to learn a lot about the Raptor here! And it seems to have a lot of good info on the site!

So you will see me arround here ;)

Tim Welcome!!
I have driven both and you will not believe how good the Raptor rides and handles!! I towed a 8000-lb loaded trailer behind a 2010 Raptor for 900 + miles, and it was the easiest trip I have ever made in a 1/2 ton truck towing.........

Have your dealer over there get ahold of me, I can order your Raptor for you.

I have a hard time believing that trailer weighed 8,000lbs, the Mustang only weighs 3,600

Sorry, you feel that way. My trailer is set up to haul F250/F650 trucks, with body upits. It has 2 8000# axles and a GVWR of 16K -lbs. I carry 900-lbs of chains, binders, spare tires, ramps etc in the front frame storage boxes. Empty the trailer is 4000-lbs.

I have a Class A CDL and over 1.3 Million miles O-T-R in a Semi, accident and ticket free. I live and die by knowing what weight I carry. Forgive me if I don't give a $hit if you believe me.

Sorry friend, I meant no offence. I didnt look at the trailer very closely before typing that, and now I look like :dancingpoop:. I dont doubt you, I had assumed a typo. I respect truckers, driving those things are very hard and you work long hours and get little money. :Stupid Me:

Sorry, maybe I over reacted too......... it's very late, and I have to deal with 15-18 year old kids (give or take 10 years) ALL the time telling me some BS line or questioning me?? I have been Selling and Building/Upfitting Ford Trucks for 9+ years, and I'm a Master Certified CAM / BPN, SVT Master Cert before Ford dropped Job Role.

Welcome to the forum! I have driven quite a few Avalanches. The Avalanche rides better in terms of comfort than the Raptor, and will also sway less in corners. You also notice some squat from the rear when accelerating hard from a stop in the Raptor. But it's not a huge difference. The Raptor is very well road mannered for what it is, Ford did an amazing job at balancing the on-road and off-road performance of this truck.
