Sorry~~~ I was the man who went Afton cannyon alone....
I met brian there.
I thought it would be OK because I had been there with you guys before, but it was totally different story.
Mucho rain made that place totally different trail condition.
I got stuck in mud too, but one Wrengler Rubicon guy pulled me out.
I hope I can go offroading with other vehicles, but I dont have any friend with offroading vehicle....
Well, one of my friend is buying one, so I will go with him!

I had fun there~~~

This is why you should always have the Park Rangers Station number with you when you go into some of these parks especially if you are in a 911 situation they are going to be able to fine you a lot faster then Police or EMT from the city/county.

So I went out late Friday night and was on my way from Afton Campground into the Mojave Preserve...when I stumbled upon this little water crossing. It didn't look any differ than the numerous others I had crossed that night but it was hiding a little surprise for me. I was all alone no passengers or vehicles with me and it was about 2am when I got stuck. I spent an hour our so exalting and trying to dig but the air temp was mid 30's and the water was probably 40's. I knew that continuing to dig in water at those temps wasn't a safe plan so I set camp up and got on the phone. I finally got Kyle to answer and he left his house about 3am. At about 5:30 Kyle arrived and we admitted to pull out the Raptor with no luck. His truck broke in the process and we ended up having to get a nearby 4x tow truck to pull me out. By 10:30 I was out and on my way to help Kyle deal with his truck. I finally got back home around 5pm. If I would have had another truck there from ther beginning I could have gotten out..the truck was sinking in the mud about an inch an hour or more!

I'm glad you're OK! You're very lucky you had cell phone service (and your camping gear with you). And a credit card for the tow service :D How'd you contact them (did you have their number)?

I'm amazed that Ryan came by and saw you there. The two of you out there on your own and both of you got stuck. Imagine that - 2 guys wheeling alone and both get stuck...

I had camping gear and food and water for at least 3 or 4 days ;)

I had to call my pops to get online and find the number for that Shell station on Razor Rd. I knew it was going to be expensive since you told me what the hourly rates were when we stopped in there last time Dan.

Glad to hear everyone made it out OK. That sort of thing happens around here at least twice during the winter, (except it's usually snow that gets 'em).
