I get some of this same BS if I jump in and take off. On my truck, if I wait until the XM station graphics are fully booted up, I have no issue. I think the truck skips a few steps or does not complete the boot process if you start driving too quickly. It’s only 15-30 second wait. Try it and see if it helps yours.

It would be beyond strange if that knob had a stepper motor so that it could be controlled by software. Allowing some idiot software weenie to mess with it would be stupid, but the real reason is that it would add 25 cents to the cost of the vehicle. I'm guessing it's getting bumped somehow. Did you perhaps allow a young goat to frolic in your truck? :)
Goat have been out of the rotation for a while now, I've moved on.

I don't think it's getting bumped, the times I've noticed it there was no light on indicating that the headlights were switch to ON at the knob. I would click the knob up one to AUTO and the light would come on at the knob.

Yes, I've had a few glitchy things happen. This one is new though. I also got a notification the other day that the battery was low and somethings wouldn't function perhaps. My wife actually got it on her phone for my truck. She set it up that way, I told her I didn't want it.

I was using FDRS on a 2022 F150 to get the key pad code for the door.
That SSM (special service message popped up) I haven't had time to look into it yet. If/when I do I will post what I find if it hasn't been posted yet.

I don't think so, but who knows.

So, funny thing, I have a '22 and my wife also has a '22. I'm sitting on the tailgate a bit ago talking to a neighbor. Wife pulls up and gets out and says "why is the truck dinging at me?" I go around, sure enough, same thing. I get her key start the truck and turn the knob back to Auto, turn it off, no dinging.

I wonder if it's is some kind of update that didn't take.
I think it’s a glitch from the latest update. My truck has been doing the 3 (or so) dings now when I shut it off. The other day, it did the same sound but wouldn’t stop and the headlights wouldn’t turn off like they normally do when turning the truck off and locking it. Lights stayed on and kept dinging if the door was open (ignition off). Had to drive it around the block for it to stop, just cycling the ignition on and off in the driveway didn’t solve it.

SSM says that if headlamps turn themselves on AND BCM has fault code B1533 to replace headlamp switch due to fault with internal logic inside switch.
