So….first off I know tuning is a bit meh right now for our trucks.

Long story short….i have a whipple kit and the new kooks headers (with the high output cats) both ordered and hopefully on the way soon ish.

I’m curious if I’m safe to run the headers with the whipple tune for now while I wait for proper tuning to come into play?

I’m fine with either option cuz I’m cool with letting the headers chill while tuning gets worked out, just wanna know if it’s even possible without blowing something up

Let Whipple know, I bet they would be will to adjust the calibration or at least confirm if it will (the headers) cause a problem…

Whelp….whipple wasn’t much help….they said the tune is just for a stock truck and if I wanted a revision, I would need to find someone to tune it

You will have zero issue installing headers with the tune or the factory tune, this ecm along with the ecm in the gt500 or even the hellcat platform have the ability to add or subtract 20% fuel according to what information is sent to the ecm via the wideband air fuel ratio sensor. Example, on my 2021 gt500 i installed a upper pulley and jlt intake that added 2.8 lbs boost and data logged it. The ecm saw the difference and added about 7% fuel all while not seeing any spark knock. The long term fuel trims were well in range of the factory allowed specs, about 9% positive in my case. That is the beauty with these modern performance ecm's. But sometimes even if you add power the power will never be realized because of torque limits built into the transmission ecm.

Is there any benefit of adding the headers without the whipple? Been toying with the idea for a while
