There are SS bolt kits for the 6.2L but I don't think anyone sells a SS stud kit.

You are probably going to have to one-off that setup. If you have friends with machine tools, or have your own you can make whatever you need. Lots of old lathes around here in people garages given the machine tool history of Cincinnati so stuff like that is easy aropund here- just give them a drawing and they make it.

SS bolts would be OK too, especially if you never plan to remove them. Studs have the advantage of protecting the threads in the head since they only pull on the head threads during the torqueing of the nut- no rotation against the head thread like a bolt does as you torque it.

Is there any cons to going with 1-3/4” headers over the 1-7/8”? I can’t find any reading material on this supporting either direction.

N/A? Yes. Go big with a N/A engine.

With a Whipple? No. A twin screw will cram the air through whatever exhaust you have w/o issue. A slight undersize on the exhaust piping will have very little consequence on overall power. The smaller pipes are easier to install too.

how far out are you planning on revving the engine? the smaller diameter will likely make more power lower in the rev range while the larger headers will make more power in the upper range. if you are keeping the stock rev range you might not see much gains going to the 1 7/8.

I don’t rev it out real high. I’d much rather have all the torque I can get. Found out today that Kooks has the headers in stock, however it’ll be around 4 weeks or so before the Y pipe is built. Anyone know of a vendor who has a green catted Y in stock?
