I bought a HDD to add to the second USB port and ran the cable to the glovebox, all I can say is there should have been an easier way for Ford to let people access thier music files! I'm waiting on the USB adaptor that I could only find online so untill then I'm using the front USB port. I wanted an easier way than loading music from a burned CD which is so slow plus you need a pink tutu and magic wand to get Sync to load them. Well the HDD turned out to be hours of work to setup for Sync to recognize it! I'm running Windows 7 and it wont format a drive or partion larger than 32 gb and about the smallest HDD drive you can buy these days is 500 gb. After download 3 different versions of Swissknife I finally got one that would do all of my 500 gb in Fat32. Next I had to download a program called Musicmonkey to load the music so Sync would see the correct genre, artist. album and track. I could have just used a thumb drive but liked how easy the HDD in the glovebox is to pull out and add music as needed. So I know the hassle will be worth it down the road but does it really need to be so complicated? The cable run wasn't that hard but why do you have to take apart the dash and jump thru all these hoops?

I plugged in the HDD to the front port and it lives in the little nook on the right side of the center pedestal. Something about pulling the dash of a $50k truck apart frightens me a bit. Maybe I'm just a sissy.

Pulling the center rubber mat and speaker was the easiest part of the whole setup! Took all of 2 minutes.

Twas really easy to format mine to FAT32 under Linux. Think it was right click on drive, select format, select FATness, press Ok. My Win7 box has more important things to do, like Portal2. :ROFLJest:

Is there another USB port on the radio somewhere behind the dash?

I've got a Terrabite HDD that I'd like to install... one of my future mods is going to put one of those "In motion" type deals installed so that the passenger can watch DVD's on road trips.
