Yes, it is, but it is really nice. Very easy to hook up and disconnect. The important part for me is that it only works when the coach breaks are used. I use my engine brake most of the time, and it does not work them. Other braking systems use a pendulum which when you are going down a steep mountain grade and using your engine brake it would apply the towed vehicle brakes and wear them out and possibly overheat them. I do a lot of mountain towing.

If you are only doing flat land towing and only a couple of times a year, it is probably too expensive to justify.

I don't yet know where or or how often I'll be towing. First year or so probably not to much. But since I wouldn't be buying that $5000 trailer I have some room for something like this. Is this the diode kit you referred to? Or does it come with the Air Force One?

Actually you are NOT the first to ask. My wife found a 44 ft TT that she just loved. I loved it also. As much as any MH we had seen.
My wife couldn't understand why we couldn't pull it all over the country with the Raptor. After all it was a Raptor.

It does not come with the Air Force One (unless they just recently added it, I bought my last vehicle kit in 2019 to install on the Raptor), and yes that kit will work.

Been investigating more. Flat towing sure forces a lot of connection points to the Raptor. Base plates, lighting, air, and break away. Is everything but the base plates concealable when not in tow? And concealable in a way to not be damaged when off road? Surely you don't have all this stuff hanging at the front of your raptor. Would you possibly have any photos of your Raptor all hooked up and ready to go?

Here you go. The blue ox pins come out very easily so it’s less obvious. Lots of different ways to install. I’ve seen flip down license plate holders that conceal everything. I usually find the most convenient place to install without cutting or drilling and just stick with that. I really want to upgrade to a 2019/2020 but don’t want to uninstall everything and my truck is dialed in and set up perfectly.

Air Force one. Connection is in the grill. It was behind the bar in the pic.

I use an ADD bumper which gives me a lot of clearance for off road. Same thing with the Roadmaster brackets. A quarter of turn and they come out, and you can get rubber plugs to fill the hole.

While not a raptor, this shows what the roadmaster base plates look like on a factory Gen2 front bumper. I’ve flat towed my 2018 several thousand miles without issue. I also used one of those tailgate lights bars for my rear lighting....ran a trailer wiring kit from the front to the rear and it lights up the tailgate bar. Keeps me from having to put additional wiring and diodes on my LED tail lights. Wiring runs to a 7 pin connector in the front bumper.
The 7 pin gives me electric brakes and most importantly a charge line for the battery. You need to keep the towed vehicle battery topped off while being towed.
