I have owned a few F150’s: 2007 XLT Screw 5.4 Pueblo Gold
2010 Lariat Screw 5.4 Tri White Metallic
2014 STX Sport Scab 5.0 Metallic Black.

But.. I have been catching Raptors out of the corner of my eye since Day 1 and always had intention of owning one of my own. Now that I am no longer commuting daily anywhere or towing with any regularity it was THE time finally !
I respect everyone’s choices with regards to which Gen and which Mods they prefer. I have done a lot of reading here before my purchase to better understand what to expect from what I was specifically after. For me it was a first year “lower” mile dead stock truck. I restore 428 Cobra Jet cars and parts and really have an appreciation for preservation. My new to me Raptor was a local trade in 2 owner truck. I bought it from a Ford dealer and traded my STX with 86K miles on it. I paid 35K for the Raptor with 73K miles. I spent a few months looking at Raptors and this one fell into my lap as the best one and local too. I paid 3K more for a complete warranty 4 yrs or 45K miles. I want to share these details because it can be helpful to someone else. For me the condition of the paint and all things cosmetic was important. I avoided modded trucks as well. I wanted to set the way back machine to 2010 and do it my way ! Ha
It’s a clean machine and I am blessed to still have this much excitement about my next ride at 56 years of age.
I am removing the stripper pole this weekend and ordering the cover plate. I really need a smooth tailgate to roll engines on my carts in and out. I learned this from you guys and some more to come. Thanks to everyone that shares here. I’ll do my part too now

My Raptor was built 9/29/10 with the 6.2
Thanks for the welcome and interest in my junk. My last 2 cars have been 68 R code Cougars. The Black one was the only 4 speed produced. The Orange one is my current “mistress” this one is going to be my street/strip brawler rather than a nut and bolt restoration. I am crazy about 68.5 R code cars and can be found on several Ford forums with same handle :)
