In for pics.

Also, I'm sure you've seen the aftermarket panels.... Will look great especially if you will be saving $20-$25k on a new raptor.

Affirmative on that! The front pillars, top of bed rail top and roof are what my body man says will hit the pocket the hardest. As mentioned here, I can probably live with the roof, but everything else will be tough to look at; my brother-in-law likens it to "a fat chick's ass". Apparently he was a player before marrying my sis. Haha. Sounds like he was playing with the softball team's firstbase/clean-up hitter.

Make a deal that the dealership cover paint costs... here's what I am thinking. New glass fenders front and rear to run 37's covers most of the side damage. You look around and find a hood off of a wrecked Raptor, along with your driver side mirror.... you should be good... then turn it over to the dealer for prep and paint and you should be back in business ready for mods. Our vendors here can help with the glass panels.

How are the top of the bed rails damaged? They have black plastic covers.

As long as the title is clean and pillar/roof damage is reasonable, I'd buy it, drive it, and have fun without worry of scratching. The remaining parts (hood, fenders, etc), just fix it as you go and replace those damaged parts with more desirable aftermarket.

Did you check out the truck?

GREAT LAKES RAPTOR EXCURSIONS

Didn't get a chance to...seems that the early bird really does get the worm; too bad I was that bird. It only took a few days to sell all 9 trucks. The sales manager told him they would sell the ones with the worst damage for $39,500 to employees and friends/family. I didn't jump quick enough, but that damage sketched me out enough I wanted to get some advice on it.

Maybe next time.

Depending on damage, you would have been ok if you planned on driving the truck into the ground. The key is the title. Some insurance companies and loan companies will not insure or loan money on salvaged vehicles, and the dealer most likely totaled them all, collected the insurance, bought them back for $15K ea. and is making a freeking killing on them. I can imagine severe damage could have knocked holes in the glass hood and fenders and easily done $20K damage. I had a white Volvo that was beat to living shit from literally softball sized hail.....broke glass, knocked all the trim off, tail lights, it was totalled. Insurance company rolled in paid me $8K for the car, I bought it back for $1500, fixed the glass and trim, drove it all beat to hell for 3 years and sold it for $3500, salvage title and all. Win Win Win Win Win.
