That actually seems kind of high to me. I got a quote for a monster sized two tire bed rack, and it was only $75.

If it was $200 each, that would be pretty stupid to do. Considering you could buy another set of wheels for that price. $200 for the set sounds about right. I'm all about the plastidip, though. Cheap alternative, looks great if you have any painting skill, and you don't have the take the tire off the rim.

DIP away..

Only good for street queens. The dip won't hold up to off road use.

I don't know anything about powder coating. Is that removable if you change your mind?

Apples and oranges. Your rack was probably raw and unfinished metal. The OEM wheels have a crazy hard clear topcoat that needs to be removed before the powder will stick. Only way to do that is media blast them, which can be pretty labor intensive. $200 total seems just about right to me all things considering.
