But you still have to wear the electronic bracelet and report to your parole officer, right?

No sir! Never been arrested. Hardly have I ever been pulled over. I'm squeaky clean, just as my clearance with the United States Government will tell you. :flipthebird:

The big one in Tulsa was last weekend! Saturday was stupid crazy shoulder to shoulder until about 30mins before closing. Sunday wasn't to bad but still packed by noon.

If it were up to me, all retired military and law enforcement who are mentally and physically capable would be allowed to conceal carry nationally. So while I like the idea in general, I have mixed feelings on HR822 but for reasons that have to do with inconsistencies by Congress.

If their basis was solely on the Second Amendment and its incorporation at the state level, then this bill makes sense to me. But they’re basing it on a state’s authority to issue a concealed carry license and is limited to only the states that issue these licenses, which IMHO is a blatant violation of the Tenth Amendment.

I’ll use the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) as an example. I believe Congress got it right with DOMA saying one state does not have to recognize another state’s alternative marriage statute. I don’t believe this is an equal protection issue because states only have to recognize marriages of equal status as defined in its own state. If licenses are issued as a state-level authority, each state gets to define what constitutes a marriage and can’t be compelled to recognize other definitions.

HR 822 takes the exact opposite approach in that the status of all states’ concealed carry requirements are not equal. The argument could be made that Congress exceeded its authority by compelling recognition of unequal requirements.

Like I said, I’m for the concept but against the approach based on Constitutional arguments.

Yes yes yes! Too f*ing confusing figuring each states cans and cant's!
This will make it a lot simpler.

The bill excludes concealed carry in state(s) that do not have such laws. as of now, that is Illinois and D.C. only. Guess where I live?
