I was at the same school with Greg. Back in the days of carburetors and distributors and not as refined machining procedures it was much more critical to do a longer more precise breakin but anymore I've just heard to break it in like you are going to drive it normally. Changing fluids isn't a bad thing by any means. I changed mine at 1k to full synthetic
