Maybe you're all aware of it - if not you will want to familiarize yourself with the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act and how it protects vehicle owners in regard to what does and doesn't void your warranty.

There's plenty of information on the internet about the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. You can start here:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Magn...icrosoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&rlz=1I7DKUS_en

We can always start a thread on this subject as there's lots of information and many people on this forum must have experience with it.

I agree that per Magnuson the warranty is not voided unless there is proof the modification somehow caused or contributed directly to the failure...

Bent... what part of the Ford warranty language are you basing your opinion on? (I'm not a very careful reader)

Nice bumper!

Warranty voided or not I don't think I could get behind one knowing I had to cut up my frame.

Chopping up the frame could be considered misuse of the vehicle. Remember that warranties are largely a grey area and open to interpretation by Ford and the dealer.

"Could be considered" - that's what you're going on? Take a look at the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act and how it protects vehicle owners in regard to what does and doesn't void your warranty. "Chopping up the frame" cannot, as I understand it, in itself, void a warranty. Doing that or anything else shouldn't void anything until and unless it's demonstrated that the modification is what caused the failure.

Ford and its representatives (employees, dealers, etc.) can say ANYTHING they want but when the rubber meets the road it all comes down to the legal stuff and the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act protects vehicle owners against dealers and/or manufacturers who could simply void the warranty because they want to (which is what it sounds like you're basing your opinion on).
