Ah. That would definitely not be a CARB compliant process. Keep in mind that COBB (and myself) is fully compliant. So the path forward needs to be compliant as well.

I had spoken with 5 Star about a ‘23 tune and they’d said if the mfg. date was before Dec ‘22, they could do it. Any thoughts? I believe my mfg. date was Aug of ‘22 (for a ‘23) but I’m waiting for @GooseTuned. Thought it was interesting info though. Also, anyone know how Hennessy can tune a ‘23 already? Thanks!

It may be worth a shot asking COBB, they might want to see if its the same ECU. If it is then it sounds like it'd work.

Spoke with Cobb today, 5 Star has a different Open Source and do things a bit differently, so no translation. Unfortunately, no eta yet.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure 5-Star uses HPTuners software. HPT is moving much faster than Cobb these days. I still prefer Cobb because Trey Cobb really got into the flash tuning at the beginning, but they’re really limiting themselves in the past few years. Cobb markets more to high-end vehicles with historical performance like the Raptor, Mustang, and Porsche, especially

HPT have their own custom features that allows different tune settings in the Drive Modes, Trans Brake for the 10R trans, plus a few more tuning parameter access. I still run Cobb for my Raptor, but HPT for my ExplorerST and FocusRS. HPT has cracked the AWD module in the FocusRS, so you can tweak it as well.
