I was bored today so I integrated Ford Pass with my Google Home speakers.

Pretty simple:
  • Say "Hey Google, ask Fordpass to start my car"
  • Google will respond that your Fordpass is not linked
  • Open Google Home app, go to Activities tab, click on Link to Fordpass
  • Follow instructions on phone and set up a pin
  • Say "Hey Google, ask Fordpass to start my car"
  • Google calls Fordpass, Fordpass asks for pin
  • Speak pin
  • Profit
I hate how verbose Google home commands are, so I created a custom routine for each that is shorter. For instance, I added "Start my Raptor" and had that call Ask Fordpass to start my car

Commands include:
  • "Ask Fordpass to start my car"
  • "Ask Fordpass to start my engine"
  • "Ask Fordpass to lock my car"
  • "Ask Fordpass to unlock my car"
  • "Ask Fordpass my last command status"
  • "Ask Fordpass how much gas do I have"
All of the above was done because I am frustrated that FordPass doesn't work with my watch (Android Wear). Now I can start my car via assistant, even if I can't do it with a fancy button like the Apple Watch.

Note: I am not a Google home expert or IT support. If the above doesn't work for you, just google it. That is how I figured it out, lol.

Oh what a great idea--have Google spying on your every move and pushing it into their AI tools and monetize it.

Note to the smart people out there--don't use Alexa, Google, Siri, etc...all they do is collect data for the companies that run them.

Now for OP, this might explain the recommendation for the blow up hail cover...it knew you liked blow up toys. See...

I recall reading a year or so ago that Ford and Google are partnering. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Pretty soon you’ll be able to link Google Home with one of those Japanese smart toilets and you can say “Hey Google, wipe my butt.”

Nice, here's mine.

SmartSelect_20220623-144421_Google.jpgSo, I just say hey Google start Raptor. Then it just asks for my four digit pin.

Also created a shortcut on phone so all I have to do is press it and wait for it to request my four digit pin.

I enjoy having it on my google home as well, and have used it a few times when the keys were in another room while shaving, etc.
I think a few people need to shed a few layers of their tin foils hats....lol

Exactly. It is annoying using the default setup.
