This is a pretty cool little route that will get you some absolutely spectacular scenery without being overly rough for the family.

You'll travel all along the river until you get to the potash ponds (which are super cool - flip the map to satellite view and zoom in on them!) and then climb to some massive cliffs overlooking the river valley, and finally an awesome switchback up to the road. Google says 2h13m, but you'll be stopping to take pictures a lot, and there are plenty of cool spots for a lunch break. You probably won't see many other people out on that road.

Once you get up to the highway, it's worth taking a detour to Dead Horse Point, though that spot is a bit more touristy.

Pictures really don't do it justice, but here are a couple from my last trip out there.

Been on that trail a few years ago with my lifted '02. Love that trail and hope to hit it again soon in my Raptor. And you are correct, pictures do not do it justice

Hell, I want to visit Moab too. It's damn beautiful and interesting. Maybe next year we will also be able to take the whole family on a trip to Moab. Are there any tips? This year we have other vacation plans. We are planning to visit Europe with the whole family. We have a very interesting trip planned this time. We want to see Europe by train. Yes, by train. We decided that it would be very interesting not only for us but also for children. Tickets have already been booked at https://www.dbauskunft.com/de/.

Lasercat, “pretty cool little route“ is an understatement! I am currently in Moab and thanks to you, I did the route today. My first impression was pretty cool, but the more deep I got, it got awesome. When I stopped for lunch I had Subaru Outback pass me. The guy must have thought I was a ***** in my 37 Raptor and to tell the truth so did I. About a half mile later, just prior to the switchbacks, I saw the Subaru driver outside his vehicle looking at his DAMAGED front bumper. There was a 18” or so rock he obviously attempted to go over, but failed. My Raptor did it with ease. BTW, the switchbacks are, at least to me, very challenging. Thank you for taking the time to post the route, it made my day! I attempted to upload a video, but it was too large.
