8 HP lower is competitive, IMO. And to many the V8 sound and lack of turbo lag etc is a very good trade off. Assuming the truck is reliable and in the same price range, this Jackal will turn just as many if not more heads in the starbucks drive through as a Raptor would.

Again though. I don't think it's that useful to compare stock to aftermarket package. There are after market packages that or straight customizations that you can do to your Raptor to beat out this Jackal. It really then comes down to personal preference, what effort and money you want to dump into it, etc....not about which automaker is making the best truck.
Agreed on the power but its not like the Raptor displays a badge sgowing 450. If it did, I would be similarly critical... Now if the TRX wanted to display 702, thats a different story

I misunderstood your post. Didn't realize the Jackal actually had a sticker stating 442 HP. Didn't watch the vid. Agreed that it's kind of lame. I interpreted 'display' in a more general sense, to mean that the Jackal was advertising it as a feature that makes it competitive with the Raptor.

To me personally this is just the RamRunner all over again, they came out and said "hey look we beat the raptor in almost all conditions DoDgE iZ Da bEsT" and it worked so well they made the TRX

I've seen much worse aftermarket trucks, but can't compare aftermarket to an OEM truck like the Raptor. I like GM overall and have had many of their trucks/cars and have 2 GM cars currently in addition to my '19 Raptor and I'd love for GM to come to the party with a competitive truck to the Raptor and TRX.

Can’t say they did anything to doctor up and fix the departure angle. Step bumper ain’t gonna help.

As a GM guy since 2007, I have been dreaming of GM making a true Raptor competitor for over a decade now... The Reaper was the closest thing we ever got. Even that was basically a lackluster effort - and not a true GM production vehicle.
I've said it for years, if GM ever built a true competitor, I'd be hard-pressed to not shop for it and compare.
(This coming from a current die-hard Gen 1 owner who loves his ridiculously bad fuel mileage and awesome sounding V8.)

Not liking the new hummer? Not a direct competitor, but supposed to be an offroader.
