I've looked into the dunes a bit but was wondering if someone could help answer a few questions. Are you able to get a state of michigan passport sticker and DNR ORV stickers at the local shops or just the ORV? Also does anyone have experience on mounting a rented flag on the WSI mount, or should I just order my own to be safe?

Not sure about the recreation passport as I always get that at the sectary of state. I know local shops sell the ORV sticker. I get mine at D&R sports in Kalamazoo.

I would suggest waiting and getting a flag at Silver Lake. They are very picky about the flags you use.

You can buy the Recreation Passport at the park or online. ORV sticker you can get online or anywhere fishing licenses are sold I believe, like Walmart or Meijer's. I think you can even buy them at the park too.

There are a few places in town to buy both passport & orv for the year if you don't get them online.

As for mounting solutions... I really like my WSI tow hook mount, its beefy and taken some good blows. The local shops sell generic universal mounts if needed, most are a piece of flatstock and u bolt to attach to the stock tow hook. Id make my own before using those, or just order one from Jimmy.

Dune flag just needs to be 10' high with a orange flag. pretty simple.

You can get the Pass port and ORV decals at Silver lake as long at someone is there.

I had a flag that met those requirements but was rejected due to being too flimsy.

I would get everything except the actual whip and flag before going there. They are about $20 at the dunes. But you will not want the crappy mount they have. Get the WSI mount!
