Glass Fender Peeps/ Bodyshop Folk… What’s my issue?

Like he said it's usually not added on parts like fenders and such but yes you could add it to help especially with something like this but if it is the actual Fiberglass that's cracking then I'd say the prep work they did was sanding a little too much off and making them brittle and thin or they're thin enough that they flexed and moved enough to crack the paint.

All of these cracks are caused by issues from underneath. Paint and clear coat these days have some sort of flex in it already. So either there was a lot of stress on the glass when being applied, or....... like many situations I've seen, someone backed into your truck and flexed it just enough to make that happen. If it was installed properly, there wouldn't be any cracking like that if you run your truck hard. But, if there is movement in the fenders and headlamp, it will happen with rough driving. What brand fenders are they?

Now in pics 5 and 6, the cracks almost look like body filler cracks. This could be another issue. Was this fender repaired? Did they drop it while installing and fix it? If so, they might have used only body filler to fix it. Too much filler applied will cause this. The trick with filler is a very thin skim coat. No to be spread heavy. Vibrations, especially on fiberglass will do what I see in your pics.

So could they have maybe sanded a little too much off then try and cover it up with body filler? Or is it more likely they dropped o
It and are trying to cover up a crack? If it was damaged you should be able to see the crack on the inside right?

Not likely you'll see it all the way through unless it's broken, fiberglass cracks on the surface, gel coating, resin, etc and as Addic says bondo or thick primer(putty).

Some of those cracks are brutally deep though!

Body and paint has many temperaments and any little something, or other will make it react in many different ways. UGH! It's a pain!

Check the under side and see if those cracks are through.

Subbing because you got me curious. I guess I will find out this weekend at Rausch Creek and later at HITH3 if my fenders hold up. Mine are Fiberwerx Fenders if its matters. I'm curious what's causing the cracking.

When you look on the inside shine a flash light on the cracks in the paint and see if you can see the light through it that might help determine how deep the cracks are
