Anybody have more detail on removing the c pillar trim? That’s the part that worries me. Sounds like it’s tricky and you might break off the tabs if you don’t do it right.

It’s easy. Remove rubber door seal then pry with your fingers

Remove the bolt from the top (under the little cover) then pull it off. Tabs are large and would be very hard to break.

BE CAREFUL... there is one big tab that bends easily. Try not and PULL the pillar cover off. Try and just pop out the tabs. They are plastic tabs and if they bend and get flexible, it's a pain to reinstall them. So just make sure when you pull them off you don't wiggle it back/forth a lot bending the tab. And when you re-install it make sure your tabs are lined up, otherwise you'll squish the plastic tab and it'll flatten out and then RIP! I know from experience :) I was in a rush to install it and didn't line up the tab before i started pushing and the tab flattened out.

Must have cheeped out on the Gen 2. It’s pretty sturdy on the gen 1. You can also feed the harness under without removing the trim by gently lifting it away from the back wall of the cab and tucking the wiring in.

Must have cheeped out on the Gen 2. It’s pretty sturdy on the gen 1. You can also feed the harness under without removing the trim by gently lifting it away from the back wall of the cab and tucking the wiring in.

We got airbags in the back on the Gen2s so you have to route the wires away from the airbags :)

Maybe... that looks like the lower part, but up near the top of the cab/rear window. Similar design of course... but there is a tab like this that is on the plastic pillar part you remove. I squished mine when re-installing it because the tab did not line up and i kept squishing it to the point where i flattened it out

Can someone post a picture of your wiring harness? I have the basic harness. I’ve done my connections and none of the s2’s will come on. Only the tiny lights come on that are plugged into the stocks wiring harness. The harness that plugs into the stock/cargo harness also had an extra wire that comes out of it with a connector. Does this connect to the extra wire that plugs into s2 lights? Also can you take a picture of where you screwed in the ground by the passenger side fuse box? I’ve spliced the wires for that run down into the passenger side together and connected them to upditter switch 1. Thanks in advanced. Running a gen 1 if that matters

The wire coming off the factory plug should be connected the wire on the center s2 to activate the cargo light function. The S2’s will not come on unless the ground is connected, there are several ground points around the bcm to use.
