Had a dealer try that on a 2014 Forester that we purchased a couple months back. So I found another dealer a little further away and picked up the XT a day later. Then a week later that dealer that tried to screw us started calling trying to offer us the deal we wanted.

Scumbags never learn

Keep negotiations to "out the door price". Don't even talk about invoice and MSRP. That way there's no misunderstanding. Of course, you'll have to do your research and know exactly what those numbers are.

Welcome to car buying 101. Not sure what your dealer did, but most will add everything they can get away with if you let them. And you would be surprised what they get away with it. That's why it continues.

Don't let it dissuade you. Just play the game, don't take it personal. Get the price you want in the end or don't buy. That's how it works.

You're right...I just needed to vent. If there was ever a valid reason for recreational drug use...negotiating a deal would certainly fall into that category.

Has it been said yet?

**** that dealer. Period.

Not giving me a deal is your choice, that's business.

Lying to me will get you a big suck my starfish

The funny part is that I found the dealership and dealer's name on this forum. I guess with the mad rush of people that are trying buy Raptors, they feel they can ramp up the prices and capitalize on people needs. I'm not sure, but I think I just gave the definition of the word "greed".

This is what I emailed all the dealer's while I was looking for the best price.

$45,500 Base Price 800A, Raptor+ Package
$1025 Taxes (trade-in)
$250 TTL's
= $46,775

I asked them if they can do this deal I will drive up the next day and sign the papers. This way, there can be no ambiguity. They will know this is the deal that will get me in the door.

I told them don't waste my time because all dealers are at least 1 hour away from me. If I drive up there and get the run around I might get a little upset. I'm an ******* when I'm upset, so I try to limit people's exposure to me when I'm in that type of mood. So, I warn them a head of time.

All in all it was a good experience. I gave the OP my dealer's info so maybe they will work a little with him.

The drive to Kane PA is well worth it. $500 over invoice and it was the easiest vehicle purchase I have ever made. A few people on here have had a great experience with them. No bs, did it all over e-mail and one phone call.

To the OP .. I don't know why you don't leave your area (leave the state) and get your raptor. There's overwhelming evidence from this forum that if you want invoice or close to invoice you should seriously consider going out of state. I would recommend Steve Miller at Van Bortel in Rochester NY as he sells all his raptors at invoice. No Negotiating necessary. BUT Steve has 14 orders right now and he is not taking anymore orders.

Regardless, the longer you wait to order the better the chance you will not get one.
