I have not driven the eco in the F150 but in the Ford Fusion I had for a couple months this summer, there was a large amount of turbo lag. In fact, it was enough that I was glad I was driving it in the summer. You'd take off from the light and it would be like a dog and then all of a sudden spool up. I was thinking heck if it did this in winter, you could get in trouble quick. Plenty of power and good mileage if you babied it but the lag and sudden spool up after that was surprising and not good if that is normal. How is it in the F150 for those that have driven it?

The 3.5 eco in the F150 had plenty of low torque off the line but then you'd hit some lag higher up. It always felt like the transmission was searching for higher gears and you'd have to wait for it to come back down.

So no real lag taking off from a light? It was definitely noticeable in the Fusion. Maybe it was just the tiny 1.5l eco

The looks are definitely different and IMO does not scream out Baja truck. But it's freakin' beautiful I think and still setup with the off road platform to build on. But I can guarantee that there will be body kits that will make this new truck look sicker than hell! I can foresee minor amounts of disappointments in the 2017.

As I mentioned to @pirate air in a PM, we are not opposed to doing a custom j-arm build on a Raptor. It's something we're happy to do, so if you're really interested, let me know and we can continue this conversation.

Glad to hear that.

I was curious if anyone noticed something on the Gen2 that might be usable on a Gen 1? For example, those top Aux switches, extra camera, Nav Monitor, LEDs.
I realize there are a lot of other companies making much better products than Ford provides, but sometimes it's nice to stay OEM.

Keep in mind the turbos are set so one of the 2 spools immediately. Ford worked hard to get rid of turbo lag as have so many high performance car manufacturers.

That's why I was asking the guys who have driven the F150 how it responded. The Fusion eco I drove definitely had lag and then it kicked it too hard which on snowy roads would have been dangerous. Can't have that driving off-road at all.

That's what my 2016 transit 150 does, severe turbo lag, especially in rush hour traffic
