My knowledge is “narrow” says the guy who thinks an engine tuned for top end power in a Mustang application would be good in a 6,000lb Raptor on 37’s :happy175:

Economics have nothing to do with it. It’s impractical from every aspect and would be slower and less efficient than a normal Raptor. Regardless of your speculative ramblings, that makes zero sense on any level.

This is all 100% garbage. Your love of 3.5eb is ridiculous. In case you haven’t noticed, V8’s power many 1/2 ton trucks with power levels comparable to raptor. To assume that ford can’t tune a 5.0 to run VERY well in a raptor is beyond silly. I’m not even sure what your point is anymore…..you are too busy foaming at the mouth about how a 5.0 would never work mechanically. I told you…..economics will be the reason it does or doesn’t.

Not all V8's are the same. That is where your argument fails.

Would you put the 7.3 Godzilla super duty in a mustang? Hell no.
Would you put a Ferrari V12 in a super duty? no
Would you put a 7.3 Godzilla in a Ford GT? no
Would you put a dark horse in a Ford GT? you could, but why would you?

See the difference. I am going to assume you don't based on most of your posts but the ones that understand it, will.

There is no 1/2 ton NA V8 truck that matches the 3.5 HO in performance or efficiency. You seem to have an extremely hard time grasping the concept that engines require fundamental design changes between car and truck applications for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which are GVWR and towing capacity. That’s not “economics”, it’s engineering.

The Dark Horse 5.0 produces 418 lb-ft of torque at 4900 RPM - that’s almost 100 lb-ft less than the 3.5 HO, and at almost double the engine RPM. It would be an absolute slug in a Raptor in it’s current form, never mind once it was detuned for a truck application. So no, you’re not fixing that with “tuning”

ford as well as others have put 7.3s in mustangs
would you put an EB in a ferrari?
Reading is fundamental.

Would you put, a 7.3 SUPER DUTY engine in a mustang. If you think yes, then you have no idea what it is or how it works. The conversions you are talking about needed significant tuning and were done to race cars. That engine would be unusable on the street as an every day motor.

Oh and Ferrari has put their version of a EB in a Ferrari.
V6 engine coupled with a plug-in (PHEV) electric motor capable of delivering up to 830 cv.
