it wouldnt be billions to have an aluminum 7.3L godzilla, but theres someone that is in V6 ecoboost marketing that disagrees..
You’d have the same limitations as the RR - limited range. I don’t see it as necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not going ever be as efficient as the eco. It’s always going to be moving more mass around, even if you went to cylinder deactivation, that rotating mass isn’t going away. Like it or not, Ford’s committed to the EV path and losing money on each one they sell, and they’re amortizing those losses among the other models - Our favorite in particular.
We saw how long it took them to turn around shoehorning a V8 into the Raptor again, and that was a V8 already in service - the 5.2SC.
Unless they abandon the F150 platform and go to a F250 Raptor, I see it more likely that they continue with Eco development.
