But yet here you are constantly arguing that the 3.5L is the best thing that ever happened to raptor and also the most logical choice by a big margin....

Be honest.. you never owned a gen1 raptor, perhaps maybe never drove one and definitely not off roaded one.. but yet you are constantly bashing the 6.2L which seems to be much more reliable long term than the 3.5L..

every raptor should get better as the generations progress, but I think there's a larger factor of owners that would have preferred a V8 offering, no matter if the performance was less than the 6cyl

Maybe quote some dyno chart and then tell me how dumb I am, and definitely facepalm this post..
Didn't the V8 go from 6.2 to a 5.7? Following your logic, that was a downgrade right?

V8 vs V6 is a preference as you point out. When I bought my 3rd raptor in June, I had the option and ability to pick either the V8 R or another 3.5. I went with the V6 because I (me, my preference) saw literally no need for a 700HP V8 where most of that power is a complete waste on and off road. I didn't care about bragging rights or flexing with a V8. I honestly thought the TRX would have been a far more usable truck without the massive HP.
I did test drive a few V8's back in 2014 and I found, apart from the stoplight drag strip, it was a waste of power, fuel and usability.

There is a huge difference between power and usable power.

I owned a F12 a few years ago. It was a 700+ HP V12. It was miserable to drive around. I had a much better experience with the AMG GT at got after that.

I guess the point is, people prefer something over something else. On paper, the V6 is a better choice for the raptor while some agree, others dont but as in all things, ******** on people isnt going to change anyones mind.

Ford released a V8 and this argument still continues so while some complain, others are happy.

450HP, 510 lb-ft of torque, 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, and 18MPG highway. How is that not the most logical choice?

Oh that’s right, you thought they could adapt the 5.2 FPC Voodoo for Raptor use with some “intake and cam changes”

I never wanted to own a G1 Raptor. I’ve driven enough of them to know they’re gutless, slow, and heavy.

There is zero logic behind offering a lower performing, less efficient engine with significantly less torque just because you have an irrational fixation on cylinder count.

Dude, check out that link I posted above. You want to see insecure trolling ramped up to 11, that’s pretty representative of how bad it used to be.
The ignorance that thread is mind blowing. It’s literally a bunch of mouth breather cavemen making up with nonsensical claims to bash the Gen 2 because of their own insecurities. And of course EricM was one of the circus ringleaders as usual.

Look at this gem, yea those 6.2s really make big power with mods! :happy175:
Reminder: the 6.2 has a lot more torque at low RPM than the 3.5. Also, the 6.2 has superior throttle response and no boost lag.

Most importantly, the 6.2 has a LOT higher ceiling once the mods start.

To be honest, the 6.2 DOES have a higher ceiling. With the window edition there is no limits!

Flextape, if you can seal a boat, you can fix that window
Completely forgot about flextape.
Now, the question is: flextape or Gorilla tape?

I’ve heard from some FRF, it helps longevity to keep the engine bay dirty. Not mentioning any names, like @MurderedOutSVT because I’m not one to name drop or anything.
