So your saying since 2018 they have been working on the Gen 3 Raptor and not improving the Gen 2 with new upgrades?!?!? I seem to remember distinct differences from 2018 to 2019/20 trucks.... please explain because ....

Like @ICUGAZN said earlier.... blind statement with no data is foolish....

SMFH You obviously aren’t paying attention too much to the news. But here you go, first 40 seconds and bits of more time in the 30+ min video with the actual head engineer. Your welcome.

sounds like you need to prove your point now? *****.

I wonder if they called Chevy and asked for the body designer...

You also have no clue how design and manufacturing works. You don’t come up with ideas and build the same year. It takes years of prep, design, prototyping etc. so now, I will quote you quoting someone esle.

Like @ICUGAZN said earlier.... blind statement with no data is foolish....

How was it an immediate rush? Please publish YOUR PROOF. Your spouting off cause you just don’t like it and that’s fine. But take you BS somewhere else.

hahahaha! Nice .GIF! If you read above and don’t let your emotions get involved... I was merely saying that the truck seems rushed....especially the Aesthetics/ look of the Gen 3 was the main focus I was going for here.. I was going through an example how the GEN 1 /GEN 2 came out a few years after the New Gen F-150 and EVERYTHING turned out AWESOME.... No one ever said the truck doesn’t have good upgrades with suspension and interior... but damn the front end is hideous! BTW this is my opinion I have nothing to state as proof nor did I ever say I did... everyone has seen that video you put up BTW... after looking at your posts from before you have a friend that works on the assembly line...do you know why they made the front end look like this?( an even more boxy looking bronco/truck?...no matter how evidence you want...that front end is hideous.... just my opinion before we start asking for more evidence brother!

i have no idea why they choose the front end. But based on past generations that front end will be there for a few years. It seems a generation is about 3-5 years. My contact is a work associated contact in an engineering DEPT. I have various contacts across all of the big 3 auto manufactures. I have been saving for a raptor for 10 years as I think it is awesome. I have had several F150 over the years and I am super excited that the 2021 Raptor is coming. I am sure the Gen 1 & 2 owners have some issues with the 2021. But for me, it’s pure awesomeness.

The Gen 3 design will continue to grow on those who haven’t fallen for it from the get go and as expected, it’ll be a better performer than the Gen 1 and Gen 2. That said, it does seem like it was pushed into production sooner than expected based off early design sketches that show it as a 2022 raptor and history with the first gen raptor coming a year after the then new 2009 F150 and the second gen raptor coming two years after the then new 2015 F150.

The only thing that is throwing me off from the Gen 3 is the flares... I honestly don't like how the flow of the body doesn't run into it like the previous years... The flares just seem way to big/thick for it... Should of kept it a smooth transition, I hope there's something we can mod in order to get that smooth and even transition. I'll still be getting a Ford Raptor R though next year...

I agree that it feels like Ford rushed this out earlier than planned for some reason. I think they felt direct TRX release pressure.
With all said, it’s worth noting the sketches are of a super cab, not a screw.

Probably because those sketches were drawn in late 2017/early 2018 timeframe and at that point they obviously hadn’t removed the SuperCab option.

wow. So I’ll admit right away that I may be the one guy contemplating a 2021 raptor that hadn’t seen that video. Hahah. Thanks for posting it. In my mind after reading and viewing some early details that there was a ZERO percent chance that the Gen 3 wasn’t more technologically advanced than the Gen 2. Absolutely confirmed after watching the clip. 37’s, suspension, and upgraded interior are quite tempting.

I’ve been a bit preoccupied trying to sell and buy a new property, preparing to have our third kid, and simultaneously struggling with the temptation of selling a depreciating asset (my raptor) at near break even margins.

That being said, and I want to be crystal clear, I love my 2019 Magnetic Gray Super Crew. Based on looks alone, what I really wanted was a slap me in my face aesthetic that made it a no-brainer to upgrade to the Gen 3. What I am now faced with (based upon my current feel) is a technologically superior beast that has yet too visually woo me.

Thanks a lot for sharing the clip and posting. I acknowledge that the other colors look sick, and that this new generation will be undoubtedly bad to the bone. Gone are the temptations of the TRX!

My truck rarely gets to see the dirt due due to other life/family priorities. So I’m left with visual preferences to sway my purchasing...I have been a gray and black truck owner my entire life. The gray color in these trucks has always been appealing to me as it makes them whisper Raptor rather than scream it. This Gen 3 doesn’t look good in gray to me....yet. Might be time to contemplate a new color.....or just wait for the R.
