because I can spin the tires a bit easier!
That sounds like a problem to me. I understand the fuel savings and other reasons for a lighter tire, but for using my truck as an everyday driver and in winter conditions and even rain, spinning the tires easier would suck. When does a wheel become too light? I have heard about people complaining about too heavy but sounds like lighter isn't always better.
Also, $700/wheel is expensive. Even the FP Forged is pricey when compared to most other wheel manufacturers out there. What makes them better?
@cfmistry not criticizing your choice because I like the FP Forged wheels, just made me think of some questions especially with the wheels spinning since they are so light.

I'm sure you're not flooring your truck in the winter snow. Heavy or light wheel/tire you drive for conditions. There are cheaper options for lighter wheels you just need to look.

That is a the perfect setup imo, looks killer man. What suspension mods are you running?

Thanks man. Suspension is all stock for now. I’m waiting until Fox comes out with their updated shocks for the dual live system. That’ll be some time since they’re just now close to releasing the updated suspension for the standard Gen3.

I think they are a few pounds (6?) lighter than OEM beadlock wheels I had. Enough to notice — but they only spin easier when I hit it in Sport. If you’re driving normally you couldn’t tell any difference, and especially if you’re driving carefully. It is a 6000lb sled after all - a few lbs of unsprung weight doesn’t make it light on its feet.

FP Forged wheels are just that - forged aluminum. This results in a light, strong wheel. They are relatively affordable compared to other forged wheels (can be upwards of $5-10k/set), but yes, certainly more expensive than cast wheels. Do I need the added strength? Definitely not. Is the build quality top notch? Absolutely. I’ve had many aftermarket wheels in vehicles before and their quality is the best I’ve seen. Heck I had a set of $8k HREs on my X5 and the finish flaked off after a few years!

Most forged wheels are now weighing in between 21-24 lbs… I think the FP forged I got are right at 22.4 lbs. So when asking what is the true benefit, it is a stronger built wheel that weighs less than most cast wheels and significantly less than the factory wheels.

Less rotating mass performs better, braking, acceleration, etc etc.

Now some will come back and say, but it’s a truck blah blah blah…. Sure, go slap on a heavy wheel and a load F tire then. HAHAHA
