I have the OEM wheels that came with the 37PP. Still using the original BFG All Terrain KO2 37x12.5x17LT 116S and during winter (Nov thru April), I use Studded General Grabber A/TX 37x12.5x17LT 124R D2.

The old-school independent tire shop closed in my town this year and I learned that the big tire/wheel chains won't touch the fake beadlock rings (liability, time, etc) so every 6 months, I will have to remove them and then replace them and torgueing 24 bolts 3 times x4 tires is a PITA. Plus, a few of the bolts have been cross-threaded (likely the tire shop) and at some point, I am expecting them to strip. No idea if they can be re-tapped so I plan to use some Anti-Seize lub and hope I can re-install the rings after I do the winter tire swap this year.

Does anybody know the specs for the 2021 Gen 3 OEM wheels? I have seen a couple different specs:

1) 17x8.5 +30. Roughly 6" of backspace. 5.93" exact
2) 17" x 8.5", with 34mm offset (3.41 front space, 6.08 back space) The front-space and back-space measurements are based off the rim's full section width edge to edge (9.5" approx.) where the 8.5" width rating refers to inside edge to inside edge (tire mounting surface). The wheels are hub-centric.

Am interested in smooth lip replacements (so I don't have to F with the fake beadlock) that match the OEM wheel specs.

Thanks

I don't think you really need to torque the beauty rings. Just snug them up and move on

This is the info I have. I don't think the tire shop did this since some bolts were much looser then others. I think they just used an impact wrench

Thats for true beadlock setup. The beauty ring doesn't actually do anything, much less important than true beadlock rings that hold the tire and wheel together.

ok .. that will save some time. it took about 20 minutes to remove all of them from 4 wheels. hopefully the cross-threaded bolts can be re-installed. they were a PITA to back-out

When I put mine back on I use an impact set very low. I get them started by hand so I don’t cross thread them, but it speeds things up when you can zip them down quickly. I stop just before they’re all the way down and finish tightening by hand. I probably would not recommend using the impact for getting them tight.

America’s tires here does it no problem. Just had them swap tires from the same ones you have to the 35 package wheels so I can get the my stock wheels painted. Try a different shop. That’s them just being lazy, wheels are there job and an extra 10 min per wheel removing the ring should be routine. Just my experience as I’ve had simulated beadlock rims since 04.

If you do it put a liberal amount of armor all or tires soap to the ring and tires surface to get them to slip in past the rim saver lip; other wise it is easy to strip them as they are aluminum.

I plan to dab on some Anti-Seize and start by hand, then use my cordless impact drive on low, then use my torque wrench to set them all uniformly. Tires getting installed Monday so I'll be doing this Monday afternoon

Lube the rubber to the rings outer edge otherwise they are hard to get them to slip past the tire lip.

Is this when trying to remove the tire while the ring is on? Neither Les Schwab nor Discount will touch the rigs so that is why I removed them myself and will re-install. Not many tire shop options where I live
