I thought I drove pretty tame, and only get 16.5 mpg. Not sure how you are getting over 18 mpgs

Might be a lot of highway miles. I know when I drive 20 miles on the highway I'm up around the 20mpg mark. Comes down during normal driving...around 16ish.

I do miss a rumbling V8, but after taking the raptor assault and seeing what this thing is capable of offroad, and its general every day drivability I'm good with the tone. Good review, love my 18.

Depends on how new your truck is. I saw a 2mpg improvement as the drivetrain broke-in between the first 1k and 5k miles.

Really , I was already impressed with the mileage increase from 2013 to 2018. Now something else to forward to

Update: When I purchased the truck, the dealer was close to the interstate and I live about 45 miles away. It was nearly rush hour so we were moving along about 50-60 mph with some occasional slowdowns. At this point after driving in the city and my normal 80+ on the highway, the average is 15.9 but still a considerable gain from the 11.9 on the Gen 1. Gas just busted $3/gallon this weekend but more importantly to me, I can get over 500 miles on a tank so a lot less stopping for fuel.
Other observations: You really have to slam the rear doors to get them to close all the way (if it is the only one open) I suppose the lighter aluminum has something to do with that. Kind of annoying when you are unloading stuff out of back seat and hands are full, its hard to close with elbow and it seems that I am having to get out of the truck on the next trip and re-close the door. The ride in the Gen 2 is much nicer and the truck seems to feel larger inside to me. So far I am very pleased except for an interior light issue that I started another post on. I haven't trailered anything yet and will let everyone know how that goes. I did order the trailer brake controller and it has some fancy thing that allows you to back under the trailer using some decals??? I haven't looked into it yet.

I have an original 2010 6.2L Gen 1 SCAB that I have been driving for almost 8 years. I resisted the Gen 2s for as long as I could, but the old Gen 1 is finally starting to get tired. Mine only has 45K miles, but the suspension seems a lot bouncier and the Grabber tires are a lot louder than the used to be. The V8 still sounds awesome, but the 5-Star transmission shifts are getting rougher, as well.

I REALLY like my Gen 2, as it has 8 years worth of technology upgrades, along with all of the niceness of a brand new truck. I am getting used to the sound of the TT V6 and I think it will be very acceptable once I add the MPT Tunes, Full Race Cooler, SPD Turbo Adapters and the Flowmaster Flow FX muffler. I never thought I would be able to enjoy it with the V6, but I have to admit I prefer driving the Gen 2 over the Gen 1, by a wide margin...
