I recently switched over to E85, 1050cc injectors and Goosetuned, I’m averaging 16.5mpg on E85. 70% interstate, rest is a mix of hwy through the hills and 35 mph city streets with minimal stop signs. I cruise at 70mph on the interstate.

I currently own both a 2014 6.2 and a 2019 and drive them both. Keep in mind this is CDN but for what it’s worth I get 17.5 liters/100km with the 2014 and currently 12.7 liters/100km with the 2019. But that is driving quite conservatively to see how good I can get the mileage over a whole tank, mostly highway. If I get into it that can go up 3-4 liters for both trucks. Bottom line is the TTV6 is significantly better mileage.

Bunch of anecdotal numbers here... Does anyone track it and have real numbers?

My 2013 has burned 1496.57 gallons of fuel in the 19,119 miles I've driven it. 13.04 MPG Avg. Max tank was 14.8, min was 11.4 MPG. It has cost me $3,426.86 for the fuel, $0.13 per mile.

I've had Nitto Ridge Grapplers on it the whole time.

I have a very light foot and try not to drive over the speed limit. I also have a 2013 that i bought new and currently have 161k on it. First off, I always use the cheapest fuel I can find. Also, if you don't fix the tire diameter to correct the speedometer and correct the bias on the factory mpg, it's most likely being optimistic a good 8-10%. My 2013 is way off, but can't be fixed via forscan. I bet it is probably around 12.5-13 mpg. I had a 2018 Platinum that was about 1.5-2 MPG optimistic before fixing the tire diameter and bias on the factory mpg. My 2018 Raptor was about 1-1.2 MPG optimistic before fixing it. I've been tracking it the last 10k miles and show 15.7mpg. I'd say probably 80% highway driving.

Keep in mind you are going to wipe out nearly all of the $ savings the of Gen 2 MPG over Gen 1 MPG with the additional $ for premium fuel. That's assuming you would run the Gen 2 on premium and the Gen 1 on 87.

Wait, why would I use premium for Gen 2? The turbos run fine on regular gas.

I agree with you and I run my EB engines on 87 exclusively, but nearly all of the guys with the 17+ Raptors run premium. It does cost you HP at WOT, the engine is likely pulling timing under full load with 87. Even the 6.2L is de-rated on 87 and it's N/A.

They supposedly get better gas mileage on premium as well but I’ve never seen someone try to measure the difference with the same truck.

Being able to use the max timing in the EEC tables at all times will net slightly more power from the same amount of fuel, but for "mileage" that's just not a factor. At light loads, it's not pulling timing and therefore octane is not a factor.

The one instance where it might help MPGs, and the only time I'd put premium in an EB engine, is a hot day with a fully loaded truck while also pulling a heavy trailer.

Ive been running 87 in my Gen 2 lately and I can feel it. I may mix in 93 here and there. Still a lot of stations close to 6 a gallon for premium and low 4s for regular which is ******* ridiculous on the delta.
