Also if the suspension is that big of a deal, you now have $20k to outfit it with new shocks. Could probably be done for $5k and then you still have $15k in your pocket. That's a good down payment on a gen 3, so you could have the best of both worlds. If my wife would let me, that is what I would probably think about.

I had both, my Gen 1 with Roush SC is far from sluggish But I prefer driving the Gen2

I’d like one of both. There’s something about the first Gen that just feels like an experience. Maybe it was the mystique and exclusivity that SVT had built around the brand. Maybe it was that the Gen 1 was the first of its kind. I don’t know. I understand that my Gen 2 is superior in every way, but it doesn’t feel quite as “special” as the original trucks did, even though I never owned one. I still appreciate seeing them in the wild.

Not a bad deal at all & gets you into a truck w/ similar mileage no note & a bunch of cash in your pocket (wouldn’t be so quick to put it in the stock market tho lol!) you know what they say, money doesn’t buy you happiness

but it can buy you a boat
& it could buy you a truck to pull it ;-)

it’s not like you’re giving up your Gen2 for some regular boring F150 or a beater w/ a ton of miles

I would drive it first. The 6.2 is underwhelming if you're used to the Gen 2. But 20k is 20k.

i think also depends if OPs truck is stock or tuned....the biggest draw for me that initially pulled me away from V8s/GM trucks to a 2018 Raptor (& resulted in me buying another 2020 after the 18 got totaled) was the huge bump in performance from a $500-750 tune is too irresistible

the TQ & 10 speed is primo

but like I said.....free truck & $20k plus V8 rumble ain’t a bad deal!

I was getting tired of sold my Raptor and going to a TRX. This thread was fun to read through. Gotta say I like my Gen 2. Very capable and refined and can’t beat the bells and whistles for a daily. But take that drive and you make the call. Good luck with your choice.

Gonna pass boys but it’s a nice truck. 35k miles and 47k out the door someone is gonna really enjoy a Gen1. For me it was the feel, creature comforts, and the way my ‘18 is setup already. Zero wrong with ‘13 on the lot. It’s at Walker Ford, Clearwater area. pM if interested and I can send the salesperson info.

So you’re downgrading to an older, slower, less efficient, outdated vehicle just to try and pocket some money? You may get back $20k, but you’re also getting $20k+ less vehicle. Which means that unless you keep it forever, it’s worth $20k+ less when you go to sell/trade it in.

Subjectively the Gen 2 is the better truck in every aspect. Unless you’re desperate for the money, I can’t see any reason to make that switch, especially if it’s a daily driver.

I passed on it (see above) but the salesperson had a call wait list and sold it the moment I walked out the door.
