Gen 2 Tailgate For Gen 1?

Has anyone found a way to transform their Gen 1 tailgate to look like a Gen 2? I assume it's not plug and play as they are made differently and you can't swap them right? Love that black "Ford" across the back.

If you ever find out, I'm interested. I don't need the remote lock/open feature but the black "FORD" on my oxford white would look so good. Also I feel the higher camera position is a plus

The beds on the Gen 2's are garbage. There are many people experiencing the beds collapsing due to the support bars under the bed not being strong enough

Came here to pose this exact question.
I've seen some of those tailgate appliques on Ebay for around 300-500, wonder if it would be possible to put it on the existing tailgate. Looks like it might be a pain though

I’m going to bump this thread ever 6 months until someone try’s it or mails me a Gen 2 tailgate to try it out for everyone.

I'm still waiting to see where ALL THESE GARBAGE failed Gen 2 beds are at? I've yet to see a single one!
