id be real interested if they end up doing some sort of recall... i just dropped $3k for the whole rear end to be "rebuilt" because of the same issue as others on here... to be fair though i have 78K miles and other than camphasers and the issues that came with that (cracked valve cover, oil leaks etc) its been a great truck and love it! i still want to do a V8 swap but at $40K for the conversion i may end up going a different route.

Mine is broke.
I made a thread about my options but I just wanted to let you all know that it indeed was a rear diff failure.

Wondering if they are more prone to fail with any sore of lift. Even an inch.

This is exactly what did my pinion in. The original setup of the leaf springs were too much and shifted the pinion angle. Even with a bed loaded there was a noticeable rake to the truck. The truck is now about balanced and has a recently serviced differential.

2020 Gen 2 with 67k miles and change, no lift, speed dependent whining noise from rear. Sad to say little off road, pulled a 4000lb boat a few times.

Pulled diff fluid. Nothing notable in appearance, nor smell (non-burnt fluid). No water, nor unusual metal on plug, but some "specks" in pumpkin. Fluid clean bottled and sent with truck to what I hope not to be a $tealership.

Diagnosis: Pinion bearing failure and right wheel bearing. Rear end being rebuilt. Covered under ESP. $stealership seems ok thus far.

Get it home. Had trans filter changed while it was there. Trans fluid not cleaned from cross member and drips in garage. Tech used rtv sealant instead of gasket on diff cover and he also forgot to plug Elocker back in.

Feel compelled to pull all skids tomorrow and check everything. Hope I don't find cross threaded bolts or over "torqued" lugs... not holding my breath but will see.

My 2020 rear-end failed at 30k miles. Pinion bearings is what they said. Needs ring and pinion to fix it properly they said. 20k miles later, more rear-end noise. Said it was contaminated with water and tried to push the bill off on me. Asked me if I owned a boat. Never owned a boat in my life. Nothing but a highway queen. They rebuilt it a second time. Never went back to that dealership and traded the truck in on a 23 37pp.
At this point I'm really skeptical about flat rate shops. I been a mechanic for 40 years and I've never liked flat rate when it comes to the consumer.
