I seem to have a habit of purchasing buybacks. My current 2018 Raptor was a Ford RAV but had similar warranties when I purchased. I also got a sweetheart deal And saved about $10k.
I immediately (Intentionally) had a bunch of warranty work done on it including the most common F150/Raptor failures - cam phasers and IWE failure.
Now the truck runs great and looks like new, and I saved about $10k on the purchase.
I kind of feel like all Raptors may eventually need these fixes, very common issues.
I have some of the same common complaints others on FRF have (smelly A/C for one). But I love the truck.
Here’s what you need to consider... are you a patient person or do you freak on every noise? Raptors are high performance vehicles. Great performance, but also a lot can go wrong. Owning a RAV Raptor can make you a bit paranoid - I was at first. I am very happy with my purchase. I would definitely do it again.

The Oasis report showed cam phasers were first repaired only replacing 2. That didn’t fix it so they went back and fixed all 4. Duh. This was with the first gen phasers, so it was destined to fail. Also, back in early 2018 dealers couldn’t get the parts, so trucks sat waiting for weeks (months?).
After that it had an oil leak from the front of the engine. Apparently the dealer got 2 chances to fix that and never did it right.
Truck was out of Florida, where I hear they are very prone to buybacks. I also checked out the dealer that was doing the repairs and their rep wasn’t so good.
I have purchased 2 prior buybacks and both never had any serious issues - I think sometimes people just are looking for a reason to dump a car.
I am lucky, several great dealers in KC.
I see so many post on here where guys are afraid to even get oil changes at the dealer. That’s a shame. I do a lot of my own work too, but for a truck like this, unless you are a Ford Tech you need help occasionally.
My new phasers were replaced and the dealer had my truck 3 days. Had a new Explorer for a rental. Enjoyed driving that, but no Raptor.

I am in a similar case then! Good to know. I agree - sometimes people just want out from under a vehicle. Sadly, sometimes there are technicians that just don't really care. But as long as you find the right place and build a good relationship then not much can go wrong. I am going to PM you as I have a few additional questions if you don't mind.
