THE LX 570 is first on the list. I WILL also be looking at a F 150 platinum and a King Ranch.

With what just came out about Ford cheating on their ranger emissions I am not impressed.

This will potentially cost ford billions.

I recommend You should not look at any F-150s. Nothing you said you do is high as the bar F-150s have set.

I have 160k on mine.
When I bought it I started looking up places to go on day 2. So far I have driven it to 5 other states. When I bought mine in 2013 there wasn’t that many in my area so every time I saw one I would start drooling. I think that you don’t have to live in a desert or mountain area to get the full potential just have to drive a little bit to find a mud hole, creek, hill, pastor, beech, logging trail, or the deer lease. I live one hour from the beach and I took it down to Galveston and really enjoyed the sand. If you live on the coast what’s stopping you from driving on the beach.
When we evacuated for the hurricane I found myself taking some “detours” the possibilities are endless in this beast. I’m on my 4th set of tires. And looking to get to 200k!!
1- Remote starting across the parking lot in here and that engine purr
2- when the lights and markers are on at night
3- the upliffters built in did most of the work
4- a/c seats when off roading
5- beadlock wheels and being able to air down to rock crawl
6- wide stance makes me push it down gravel road and not feeling like I’m about to flip.
7- after market goodies
8- no other truck comes stock (with a warranty) with all the extras.
9- what speed bumps?!!

It took me 6 months to talk my wife into spending 67k on a truck and now she wants to take it to pick the boys up for soccer... I have to get her one now.

I am posting this thread because I am curious how other forum members and raptor owners actually use their ford raptors and if their ford raptors are their daily drivers, weekend trucks, or a truck you bought for only off road use.

I currently have a 2019 raptor, fully loaded, and I live in maine. We do not have deserts and for the most part our off roading up here really is gravel pits and or paper company gravel roads up north. A lot off the true off road trails up here are not like being in Colorado, Nevada, or Arizona its more of narrow deep woods trails that maybe a ford ranger would fit down.

Most of my driving is on pavement, I'd say 85 percent, due to where I live in maine. So the other day I was thinking, why did I buy a ford raptor living in coastal maine ? Well here are my reasons :

1) I love the look the look of the raptor. I think its the best looking truck period.
2) I love the interior
3) The seats are the most comfortable seats I have ever been in, this includes some high end euro trash sedans.
4) I love the way it handles and drives, except in the snow but that is more about the tires.
5) I really like the sound of the engine with the stock exhaust and the eco boost.
6) I love the technology in the raptor.
7) I love the over all performance = speed and acceleration-engine.

Ok after listing all the reasons why I love the ford raptor I still sit back and say to myself, " Am I REALLY using this truck for what it was built for ?". I have never been air borne in the raptor and we have no deserts in maine. Is the raptor over kill for using it as a daily driver when it is spending 85 percent of it's time on paved roads. I'll probably only 50 percent of the trucks capabilities.

I honestly feel like maybe a SUV or a Ford platinum would have been the better choice for me , due to the environment I live in. I do a lot of hunting, so the back bed is important to me, because if I get a deer that's where it goes, and I have had 800 pounds of payload in the bed 3 times this winter.

So I apologize for the long winded thread, but I am just curious how other raptor owners use their raptors and where they live.
ME120 you need a friend. Come down here to Texas and I will show you some trails. I promise you will be adding to your list of things you like. The 7 you listed is what most owners would list ( besides 5 lol)
Even if you never take it off the payment the thought that you have all that power and capabilities in your palms is like being Clark Kent. Some day you will fly...

I think you are asking yourself the wrong question. Does it matter if you are "using the truck for what it was built for"? As long as you are happy, enjoy the vehicle, and it does what you need, does it matter what it was built for?

The right question, to me, is "would another vehicle make me happier"?

And in my case, no.

I do live in the desert, but I do not, typically, use the Raptor the way people advertise it. I do use it often off road, probably several times a week on average, but I have never had it air-borne on purpose. My off road tends to be slow and crawly. Really, for my off-road use, something like the Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock, Toyota Tacoma PRO, or Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 would fit better than the Raptor. However, I have driven all of those options (in picking my truck) and while they may have been slightly better for my off road application they were not anywhere near as much fun, or comfortable, on road.

The Raptor is the best all around truck I have ever owned. I have owned trucks that hauled more, I have owned trucks that fit my off-road driving better, my wife hates trying to park it, and I for damn sure have owned trucks that got better gas mileage. But I can honestly say, I have owned few vehicles, and no new vehicles in recent years, that make me smile as much and that I look forward to taking on trips as much as the Raptor. The off-road suspension works great off-road, but it also makes the on-road ride fantastic, compared to most trucks. The seats are simply great. The performance is exceptional. The technology is very supportive and keeps me free from fatigue on long over-the-road trips.

I have had my 2018 for about 10 months now. I have 22k miles on it. And if it went away tomorrow I would go get a new one the next day.

Don't get me wrong, I am open to another vehicle if that vehicle makes me happier, over all, not just in limited sets of factors, than the Raptor. So far I have not found one that does so. Now, if they do a Raptorized version of the new Bronco, or if the Ranger Raptor comes to the US (with more HP than the existing Ranger Raptor), or if the rumored Highboy has a decent on-road ride...or if someone else comes out with a vehicle that is similarly impressive to the Raptor, then I will re-assess. But for right now the Raptor is what I want, and what I like, genuinely enjoy, to drive.

Very Good and well thought out write up. 160,000 miles on your raptor is impressive, you should hit 200,000 no problem with good maintenance.

Excellent list you put together and glad to see you are able to use and enjoy the raptor for what it was built for.

What was a raptor built for?
Hundreds of owners never or rarely get off the pavement but they still have no regrets.
Enjoy it! Take my earlier advice and drive a little out side your world and find some dirt.
