That’s your first full time job, everything else is just a hobby..
On another forum, one guy stated that he had to push his rear axle back 3/4 an inch to keep from modifying his drive shaft. The truck was a screw long bed and had the split shaft. Looks like I’m off to troll the mall with a tape measure looking for a gen 2

I bet it costs <$200 to have a driveshaft shortened and balanced.

Anyone have a length comparison of Gen 1 vs Gen 2 drive shafts?

I wonder if the Gen 2 is coincidentally about 1” shorter? :)

@SVTRap did you order the TOD 4x4 module and if so have you had a chance to test out the off-road mode and hill descent for compatibility? I believe that is the final missing link for complete Gen 1 compatibility with the 2012-2014 TODs.

The module is an easy swap. On the passenger side wall, module is mounted with 2 bolts. The back bolt is likely loose and just holds an anchor. Pull the closest bolt out, slide the unit out.

Now the Gen 3 looks so much better but still the same motor, maybe the R (if it happens) will have a nice v8, who knows.

The "R" will have a V8, straight off the presses directly from Ford's "What's New" 2022 release, bottom of page 14 and continuing to page 15:

Content: After revealing the third-generation F-150 Raptor – the best performing, most connected Raptor yet – for the 2021 model year, the off-road legend adds a new Raptor R for 2022. Raptor R will feature a V8 engine. We look forward to sharing more information about Raptor R soon

It just doesn't specify which V8, such as the oft speculated version of the supercharged Predator 5.2 shipping in the S550 Mustang Shelby GT500. I would love to see a supercharged 6.2 stuffed in the R, but I'm thinking it's gonna be some flavor of the Voodoo Coyote...

Good find, hope they actually build it!

Voodoo was the 5.2 flat plane crank V8 used in the GT350/R; they’re soft on low end torque, but breath incredibly well at high RPM. They were amazing naturally aspirated engines and sounded great, the FPC provides a one of a kind exhaust note.

All sources so far point to the 5.2 S/C Predator engine from the GT500. It’s a Coyote derivative that has been significantly re-engineered to withstand boost and reliability generate 760HP. It will probably be somewhat detuned in a truck application due to the additional vehicle weight and towing capabilities. The 6.2 isn’t even a consideration, it was never designed for boost and went out of production in F-150 in 2014 model year.
