Since Mikes work is so popular (and well deserved) here is another pic of his work. When this is completed it will be powder coated black so people in the back seat can rest their feet on it.

The engine cage is starting to come together. We opted to take the extra time to run the bump off the upper control arm as opposed to the lower arm. This allows the shock to do more of the work prior to the bump activating.

I apologize for the horrible pictures. I don't think photography is one of Jeff's talents. Haha
The truck is heading to paint on Friday, then to the stereo shop to have the custom sub box made, interior and then back for final assembly.
It's getting close and should be finished sometime in September. That will give us time to test/tune before the El Bandito 500 in Baja.

The pictures were taken early Thursday and that's why I said it is coming together. Yes there is more work to be done on the engine cage. They have an appt. at the body shop so it has to go. All of the tubing is going to be painted with rattle cans to save money and to allow for future work that may need to be done. Any additional fab work that's needs to be finished can be done after it gets out of the body shop.

I hope you had everything done you ever wanted done to that engine before that cage went into place. Lol. Holy shit I'd hate to have to work on it.

Engine cage will get tube clamps I'm assuming. These make it so that the engine is able to come out without cutting everything out and also make it much easier to work on.

GBrown- are you keeping the side core supports or cutting them out? I'd strongly suggest cutting them out, makes everything in the engine compartment MUCH easier to work on.

Just my opinion but paint should have been postponed if there's as much metal work left as I think there is up front

Truck had to go to paint. We are running out of time to get the truck done and the body shop was ready for it. As far as fab work under the hood, painting the cab will have nothing to do with it. They also have a little work in the rear to finish up.

As far as removing the core supports, they are staying for now. The truck is behind schedule and WAY over budget. I can remove them at a later date if I decide it is needed. Ricks were removed because they were bent in his rollover. The only problem is they have to be replaced with tubing to support the stock components anyways. So it does not make that big of difference.

RSV1 still has the core supports and it has worked fine all these years. Would have be nice to do it now. But I need to save a little money.
