I've talked to a few guys from the refineries and they all have said over and over unless your manufacturer says you have to run premium just run regular. I've tried everything from 87 octane to left over 112 racing fuel coming back from Baja and haven't noticed any difference. Now if you've got a tune thats a different story, use what it's tuned for.

Even the owner's manual shows a 10hp bump for using 91 octane over 87 octane. The engine advances/retards timing based on sensors that read the octane.

I saw about 0.5 mpg increase going to 91, not enough to justify. But I think it's a little spunkyer. And that's all that matters!

I don't think you should switch bac n forth. I think there some learning that occurs.

I run 91 octane and notice a small increase in milage and performance over 87. On a recent out of state trip I ran several tankfulls of ethanol free 93 octane and WOW, big difference over the 91 octane with ethanol here at home.
I buy gas anywhere, seems to run the same on any brand.
