I'm on a waiting list for a 2018 Raptor. I was able to find a dealer that is selling them at sticker but for a limited amount. I think they have a list of 50 people and I'm #47 hahaha. Anyway, while getting it at sticker is an amazing deal, the price of the truck is still pretty hefty. Even after $15k down my payment will still be around $700. I'm the kind of shopper that when I'm buying something that I don't NEED a lot of times I'll go to the store and look at it and leave without buying it multiples times before I convince myself to get it. So as you can imagine this is quite overwhelming and surreal for me.
So I went down to a ford dealer by my house just to look at a raptor and really think about if I should get it. The salesman tried selling me on it, and I was upfront with him from the moment he finished his opening sales pitch. I told him that I was just there to look and that I found a dealer that will sell it to me for sticker, and that I was not paying $103,000 for an 802A ($30k mark-up). He was shocked and excused himself. About 5 minutes later he walks back out and says that he spoke to his manager and if I wanted to make some quick cash, they will buy my raptor for $15k over what I paid for it. I laughed and told him I would would think about it.
What kind of irritated me is that while the salesman who talked to me was quite nice, I could see the other salesman crowded up just looking at me and laughing. Do I know for sure if they were laughing at me? No. But I was always told, if you feel like they're talking about you, they probably are.
