If we are talking fantasy exhausts, let’s talk inconel. Then you’ll have my interest.

Now we will see who takes the time to Google and who knows wth is really up for exotic exhaust materials.

And guys I love my truck. I do. But throwing “ performance vs price “ at this guy’s idea seems ironic at best.

I’ve seen plenty of rigs that can outperform a Gen 1 or Gen 2, built for fractions of what it costs to buy a new or slightly used Raptor.

Just visit Race-desert.com for examples of rigs that would run circles around our Raps in their environment, for a quarter of the cost.

So let’s stop using price as our reason. Lmao.

I agree on builds. But price has to play in. Unless I am the only guy on the forum that considers price as a consideration? Iam not a metal expert... but what is the benefit of ti? Weight... yes. Rust... yes. Cost is crazy. In my opinion.

You’re correct on all counts.

I’d like to add tone. All my Ducs and Beemers have run full ti Akra, and something about the thin wall titanium they use makes them SING.

Anyone that’s heard ANY car with an Akra system on it will agree.

Sadly, you can buy another NEW motorcycle for what a full ti Akra system cost for my GT-R. ‍♂️

I’ve seen some systems done in ti on cars that wasn’t stupid expensive. Maybe $8-900 more than SS.

I still say inconel, but I’m a big horsepower turbo guy anyway.

Nickel, aluminum, bronze, and manganese is used in marine applications. Cost!!! Ask yourself as a tax payer.

This thread did go a little sideways..and yes I know what Inconel (and Waspaloy, and Hastelloy ) are without going to Google...

To the OP....what you suggest is so silly to others that use their truck for its intended purpose, Off Roading...Only a true Mall Crawler would consider spending $3000+ to replace something that works just fine from the factory...INSTEAD of replacing things that can be improved...Why not drop $3000 on Alcan brakes instead?...

Getting the idea? :)

People keep saying. "Oh look at all the money Raptor owners spend on upgrades"
Yes, they do. But they are smart with their money.
$10k in suspension or performance mods goes alot further than $5k for an exhaust.
High price. Less reward for Ti on a Raptor.
Makes sense on a light weight sport bike. Weigh reduction ratio is much higher.

The gen 2 “is not a race truck”?

If I told you 10 years ago Ford would produce a factory lifted truck w/ Fox suspension, 35”s, 4.10s, locking diffs, a 10 speed tranny, a beefed up frame, a trick transfer case allowing for AWD, an all AL body & a 450hp/510tq twin ******* turbo V6 w/ the same forged guts plucked outta their legendary GT supercar AND completed the Baja (race) off the showroom floor I’m pretty damn sure ya wouldn’t even believe it but if ya did you’d most certainly say - that’s a “race truck”

That’s exactly what it is. Get a tune.
Wrong. It's a good base for something to have fun with off road but its certainly not even close to a race truck.

mostly agree. Depends on the driver. Trophy truck no... but seriously capable fun toy in the right hands. I did enjoy watching that one guy go full on in an 80’ jump and destroy his truck and kidneys.

Gen 2 owners are in the same income bracket as many german car owners, who will spend 4-5k on an exhaust IF it provides significant all around value. That means the selling point can't just be that its titanium, it also has to sound good, deliver performance, and be a reputable, exclusive brand. I fully believe this would succeed on a Raptor, except for the sound part. I've yet to hear an aftermarket exhaust note for the gen 2 that would justify the price of a high end, titanium exhaust.

If the sound could be solved, it would sell, guaranteed.

^This is what I was trying to say, but I got sidetracked. Well done.

After hearing and seeing the Ford GT Akra, I think ti with straight through resonators that are properly matched, with a well placed x-pipe, and no muffler would sound amazing.

The laughably overpriced Roush muffler delete does a good 65% impression of a Ford GT, so much so that there’s a few web articles on it.

Even more so with a tune...
