I checked the FSA, it doesn’t include a road test. I think some dealers were just doing it proactively to verify there were no issues after the update.
ok thanks for the reply . everything seems fine .I left the tune out for now ,winters coming no need for extra power

A question for those who have no phaser problems and had the 21B10 reflash.

Does the engine crank longer now, after the reflash, before it starts?

In other words, is the reflash delaying the start so that oil pressure will build up in the cam phasers before ignition?

Just trying to understand what is going on...

@FordTechOne already addressed it, new programming doesn’t build oil pressure

OK, how does the reflash make the phaser problem less likely to occur in "non-problem" engines.
FWIW, I have read all 35 pages. Just want the condensed version without rereading.
The previous calibration was allowing the phasers to cycle between the locked and unlocked position too frequently, causing wear on the locking pin mechanism. The locking pin keeps the phasers at base timing during cold start so they don’t oscillate and rattle before oil pressure builds in the heads.

Yes I asked this earlier and believe it does.

Mine is getting the phasers replaced right now, and the loaner they found for me is a '21 F150 XL basic work truck. Only two options it has are 4WD and V8. Been driving it for 1.5 weeks, and this thing will surprisingly move really well! It's probably also due to a pretty low vehicle weight and the fact it's on tires that look like 31s or 32s (just guessing from a visual). The V8 and stock exhaust also sounds really good. Now the daily driving experience overall kinda sucks, because it has no options. But mashing the pedal is at least a little fun.

P.S. The '21 basic work truck's head unit is the same as my '19 802a Raptor. Except the '21 is actually better because it does wireless Carplay. My how the turn tables...
