When that mat bakes in the sun for a few hours the carpet tape will turn to mush.

I disagree. Its got fibers interwoven into the tape. It it used for interior and exterior carpet, ie heavy traffic, so it has to hold/last. Builders have used it to hold down outdoor patio carpet for years.

I have to agree about the Ford bed mat. Thats the first thing I got for the bed of my Raptor back in Jan 2010 and the thing is great. Stays flat in the sun and looks as good today as when I got it. I have not heard good things about the DEEZEE mats anyway.

I have a dee zee and it's flat with no curl?? Got it from Cabelas on sale with free freight, I think $85.00. Perfect fit. It is not as heavy as the old mat I had in my F250.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. The heat, moisture and dirt will eventually turn the stuff in to a residue of black mush.

Wow.... thanks for all the great suggestions, much appreciated! My wife saw me having a fit with bed mat the other day and went down to the ford dealer today and ordered me a new one for x-mas!
