Has anyone upgraded just their front shocks to 3.0s and ran stock shocks in the back for a period of time? I'm looking to spread the cost over the period of a few months on my 2018 and would like to dial in the front height with a pair of 3.0s in the front (can't decide between King, Fox, or Icon). Was there any noticeable performance issues? Thanks.

Will it be the end of the world if you did this? Probably not. It really depends on what you do and what performance you are looking to get out of your Raptor. I took my Raptor stock down to Baja and although it performed well, I kept saying that if at least had better performing front shocks, the trip would have been a whole lot better. There was actually a guy who had his whole front suspension done with Fox 3.0 and stock rear and he did fine. I have since done Kings all around with Deavers and Bump stops from SVC. Looking forward to my next Baja trip

I ran my truck for a couple days with just the fronts waiting on the rears to show up. I didn’t notice any performance issue not running front and rear. It feels much better with front and rear obviously but it functioned fine.

Though I have not done it yet, I posed the following question to Jeff at SVC: "By not doing the rear shocks with the FOX Coilovers in the front, will that mess up the ride at all? Will they be “fighting” each other since they are 2 different setups?"

And his response was: "Not at all, The springs will make the biggest difference in the rear and it will be balanced"

I'd do deavers and bump stop kit in the back first. I really don't know if you'd see much improvement over this setup for the $$ by then upgrading the main rear shocks...probably have to step up to thru bed shocks next.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the upgraded rear 3.0s for a 2018 will also be super clicky due to being external bypass.

I've got +3HD Deavers in the back and am running an SVC bump kit with the 2.5 bump. The front is at 2.25" with the ICON IVD. I purchased an Eibach Lift Spring, but would rather just run a 3.0 in the front until I can save up to buy a thru-bed setup in the rear.

I did this. Had deavers and the svc bump kit and installed the fox 3.0 in front. I have a 2018 and the fronts really took care of the floaty ness. I waited a bit before doing the rears. Keep in mind the fox 3.0 rears that are not active are noisy AF. They click and clack pretty good over harsh choppy surfaces. I thought my truck was broken until I found out that is how they are supposed to be. I don’t mind the noise knowing it’s normal but some people can’t deal with it. I almost put the stock rears back on at one point. Anyway, there is no issue waiting but i would do the fronts first.

Damn! I thought that the Fox 3.0 was supposed to be quieter than King 3.0s!
