If you want strength/support and set the alignment, you can go with KHC's slot delete, but this requires UCA's that are adjustable.

I was thinking about doing this because I’ve already had to have one alignment and I’d like to avoid the hassle of getting it aligned to the extent possible. Not ready to pull the trigger on slot delete plus adjustable UCAs.

Yes you need to drill two little holes where those nub looking things are. Thats what holds it in place. Its not difficult, any place can do it if you dont want to tackle it
