So as some of you may know I went from an 18 raptor to a 20 after having my 18 totaled by a distracted driver. I realized recently it’d be pretty relevant to provide a comparison thread b/c they were both 801a trucks w/ MSRPs within like $1000 of each other....but standard items have changed & base price went up.

it comes down to little things- but here it goes

what I like about my 20 that the 18 lacked:
Live valve shocks- better than the OG std 3.0s - I would say they’re “busier” on smoother surfaces w/ imperfections, but more in terms of providing feedback than harshness- they absorb larger hits better in general

The full digital gauge cluster is nice- finally have a turbo gauge lol!

WiFi hotspot- haven’t used yet but my 2015 GMC had it & nice feature to have

Beadlock wheels...torn....I really liked the design on my ‘18, but each wheel on my ‘20 has @ least 1-2 of the beauty ring screws rusting, had no issue w/ that on my ‘18

that being said- the frame/tow hooks/springs etc ALL clearly have a better coating/paint job from the factory- it’s visibly thicker & a glossier coat. Not sure if I just got lucky or if there was a change

what I liked about the 18 the 20 doesn’t have

ford you cheap ass F***S you can shove this BS cloth crap on the bolsters of the seats right up your A$$ - SERIOUSLY - what did you save?????!??

again- $70k truck, leather seats, perforated, heated, 10 way adjustable, lumbar, 2 tone design, “raptor” stitched in headrest.....but STILL no memory function? Again- F you

the rear cup holders behind center console- how CHEAP is ford to feel it necessary to remove the POS rubber band & plastic “teeth” that provide grip on your beverages like in front? Why on earth do away with it? It seems like it would cost more to even change that out!?!!

weird

802A has memory function

i know- & I knew that first go around but wanted to avoid 802a b/c a lot of the extra equipment I didn’t really care about - I was trying to avoid sunroofs (Altho wound up having it on my 18) & nearly every 802a has it + I hate push button start.

having to pay $10k for memory seats is lol ridiculous, especially when the 801a one has- as you know- 10 way power, 2 tone, perforated, heated, lumbar bucket seats & power adjustable pedals.....but no memory function, it’s just really bizarre to leave that out. Nearly base models in other brands have that standard.

I can't stand push button start either. It's the main reason I hate driving the old lady's Escape Titanium.

I’m laughing that you hate push bottom start. Now that I have it, I hate getting in other vehicles without it. I mean, taking a key out of my pocket and using it to start the vehicle? That’s so 2016! ;)

I kinda agree with him, actually. My wife's car has push button start and my truck doesn't. The push button start has it's disadvantages, too. I'd call it a wash for convenience. Ford gouges you for it, it's more stuff to break, and it's a security risk. I can always unlock the door to pop the hood with my old-school key, even if the battery fails. Given a choice, I will opt out, even if the price is the same.

This is about the most worthless "tech" feature put intp cars now a days by people who don't understand tech.

Every single one of us carry a wifi hotspot in our pocket on our phones. No reason at all to pay extra to have your truck become a wifi hotspot.

If someone just has to have wifi on a laptop or ipad, turn it on from your phone. Save $20 a month.

Same goes for Navigation, eh? Better nav system, for free, in your pocket.
