So for GPS. Truck has nav already. Is there a separate GPS for offroading? If so I'll look into using my ipad for that.

I'm going to have a ton of questions coming so bare with me. :help:

If you ipad has GPS download motionx and you'll be good to go. Also find a mounting solution for it. Ram mounts work well.

For securing the spare, 2 ratchet straps to the bed tie downs work wonders and only costs the price of two ratchet straps.

No need to go crazy with racks. Get a radio and the required gear and show up. Have fun and then plan your mod lists after the event or start during.

Your OEM GPS is no good for offroading....

However, since you have an Ipad, download the App: MotionX.

GLRE will post the GPX map file before the Run and you can download.

I think I'm Gonna give this mount a shot:
- iOttie Easy Smart Tap Dashboard Car Desk Mount Holder Cradle for iPad
- Going to buy a bad elf (Wifi Ipad) and download Motionx
- Ordered 6 rings for the bed to strap down the spare
- Harbor freight this weekend for a jack and hopefully a gas can (gallons)
- Getting a handheld radio from Jason

That's what I thought but figured I'd ask.

How does that mount to the dash? It gets pretty violent in the can off road a lot of shaking and moving so a solid mount it critical!

Looks like your well on your way. Note, Farfromstock has some scepter gas cans available for sale. I think $80?? Check out the Havoc garage sale thread.

I have three of these 5 gallon vp jugs I only carry two with me the third I leave back at the pits/camp area I run 93 so I gotta make sure I have plenty of fuel with me just in case a gas station doesn't have it!

This one of my questions for mark and Jason. What do the gas stations around there have for octane? 87, 89, 91 or 93??
