Any advice on getting rear 3.0 shocks in? Doing it in my garage without a lift. Even when I get rear at full sag, I can’t get new shock to compress to seat it in. These buggers are tough!
Thanks!

Im sure you'll get better advice but when i did my 14 scab, i used 6" long 4x4 on a jack under my hitch. Took it as far up as it would go (remember to chock front wheels or lock in 4 low). I think i even lifted rear axle with another jack to get new 3.0 in because of too much travel. If its tight, a rubber mallet works wonders. Also, im very mechanically DEclined so if you think the rears r tough, wait till you tackle the fronts. Hope this helps. Good luck

why not just use a floor jack with a wood block between the jack and lower shock eye to compress the shock enough to slide it on the lower mount?

I did the fronts and it was a breeze. I’ve had them on and off about 4 times due to different changes. I’ll try jacking the rears into place I guess.

Get tall jacks and use the tow mounts. Then let the rear droop. Makes it the easiest

Got them in, had to jack up truck, then jack between leaf and bed support, then jack up the shock into position. Thank god I have 3 jacks :)
Fronts were easier but now I have to adjust preload so it sits just right. This is never ending!

This was going to be my exact recommendation. When I had my shocks rebuilt the shop used a bottle jack on top of the leaf. Glad you got it handled.
